☠ 8 TEXT 8 ☠
[He hadn't been planning on weddings and picket fences and two children and happy endings, since that wasn't the sort of person he was, and it wasn't the side of humanity he had ever chosen to imitate. He had, however, pictured friendship and clear, pretty smiles and learning exactly what each of her expressions meant, memorizing her favorite things, getting to know her as well as he knew Liz and Patti.
Little ideas, nothing to really dwell on, quick "what-ifs" about bringing her back home with him, once they all got out of here. He had thought of how she would fit in in Death City, had attempted to go over how she would interact with Kid's closer friends, with Maka and Soul and Black*Star and Tsubaki (and even for a second, the thought of Nill and Crona smiling quiet shy smiles at each other, but Crona was gone, and you can't always get people back).
Nill was gone, and maybe if he had talked to her more, maybe if he had decided that it was okay to offend her father in order to try and make her smile, maybe if he had done something, anything to get to know her better, she would still be here.
And then he'd tried to check on Jackie Estacado.

[He walks (walks, not runs) downstairs to the apartment to see if Liz and Patti are still here.]

Nill and Jackie Estacado are no longer in Discedo.

Re: [text]
Kirika.

[text]
It wasn't your fault.
no subject
[That's two people he basically considered family members, both in one go.]
no subject
Yes.
no subject
Damn it... I'm gonna look around, just in case.
oh derp text
Do what you have to.
[audio on his end]
[text]
I will.
[Text]
And Nill as well? You are sure?
[Text]
Yes, I'm sure.
Re: [Text]
Re: [Text] done
[Text]
I'm sorry.
Re: [Text]
[He just doesn't want to think about what kind of home they're going back to.]
[Text]
It's still a loss.
Re: [Text]
But it can not sit in your heart. Esseru would not want that for anyone who cared for her.
no subject
no subject
Yes.
no subject
We're you close?
no subject
Not very. Were you close to her?
no subject
She was however a good friend to someone I know.
no subject
She not aware about what happened to Kid yet.]
no subject
[Kid's not quite sure what she's doing.]
no subject
Hey Kid!
no subject
What are you doing?
no subject
[Trying to make a bunny now.]
Wanna help?
[1/2]
[Pinged by her Meister, Liz decided to read the post from Kid's frequency out of habit. The only problem was that it left her feeling pretty crestfallen once she did.
Jackie was a fellow New Yorker, and a friend. She never really minded talking to him, and kind of looked up to him for all the things he did for that apartment building over by Horton Lane.
Then there was Nill. What Liz knew about Nill, she knew through Kid. Both in the way he was before and now. Kind of shy, quiet and a little pretty. She never saw her much, but this kind of makes her wish she tried to get to know her better.]

Sitting at the kitchen table, Liz quickly looked up from the communicator once it sounded like the front door was opening.]
Kid? That you?
no subject
[If she hadn't been here when he'd come inside...]
Nill and Jackie are gone.
no subject
I know.
I saw your message.
[Liz slowly walked over to him, trying to remain aloof. At least for now.]
no subject
They should give us some warning.
[He doesn't know how to handle loss (irony, Death can't handle loss) and so he's trying to be angry instead.]
audio;
...What?
[ Text ]
Nill and Jackie Estacado are no longer in Discedo.
voice;
Maybe she's just-- maybe her communicator isn't working. She's always been here, why would they take her away now?
[ Text ]
I don't know. Ask the scientists if you're curious.
voice;
[he doesn't want to hear them say for certain that she's gone.]
I'll look myself since you're obviously not doing a good enough job.
[ Text ]
Were you friends with her?
voice;
But I liked her too, and she was the last friend I had left here.
[ Text ]
She's gone now.
